Senior Accountant

About the Role

Financial Accounting and Reporting

• Oversee daily accounting operations and accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze profitability, revenue, expenses, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.

Payables, Receivables, and Cash

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
• Reconcile supplier, customer, and intercompany accounts.

Budgeting and Cost Control

• Assist with annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans.
• Monitor departmental expenses against approved budgets.
• Support cost-control initiatives and analyze profitability and resource utilization.

Tax and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Saudi tax regulations, including VAT and Zakat where applicable.
• Prepare and review tax filings and statutory reports.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory standards.

Controls and Collaboration

• Strengthen financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Recommend process improvements and support ERP or finance-system enhancements.
• Guide junior accountants and collaborate with operations, procurement, HR, and management.
• Assist the Finance Manager and promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field.
• 6–10 years of accounting or finance experience, including a senior accounting role.
• Professional qualification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Industry experience in restaurant, food and beverage, retail, hospitality, or consumer goods is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
