Position Summary

Southern Financial Reporting is looking for a Senior Accountant to support various departmental objectives including, but not limited to, month-end accounting activities, SEC reporting requirements, and intercompany analysis.

The successful candidate will bring strong accounting skills, sound judgment, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting, analysis, and reporting activities for assigned business areas.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and financial reporting packages.
  • Complete financial tie-outs in support of periodic 10-Q/K reporting requirements.
  • Complete account reconciliations and perform variance analysis to help ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Execute and maintain internal controls and related supporting documentation.
  • Analyze intercompany account balances and resolve discrepancies with business partners across the system.
  • Leverage technology, automation, and emerging tools to enhance accounting and reporting processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • At least 5 years of accounting or related experience required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud, Oracle FCC, and/or similar ERP and reporting systems.
  • Experience with Workiva and Kyriba platforms.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of intercompany accounting and/or debt reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with automation or AI-enabled efficiency tools.
