Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is a key leader of the Financial Accounting team responsible for driving and delivering accurate financial reporting, strengthening accounting processes, and providing meaningful financial insights that support business decisions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who understands the “why” behind the numbers, can independently manage critical accounting functions, and can effectively analyze and communicate financial information to support business decisions.

• Drive close activities, including WIP accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Prepare financial reporting packages, analyze financial results, trends, and variances and perform routine reporting tasks.
• Manage job costing to ensure project profitability is accurately captured and reported.
• Maintain weekly cash flow forecasting and other financial analysis as needed.

• Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audits and prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and analysis.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting process through schedule preparation, data gathering, and analysis
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Support accounting operations during periods of growth, transition, and increased business activity.
• Work collaboratively across the accounting department to ensure alignment, consistency, and accuracy of financial reporting.
• Contributes to special projects and analytical initiatives as needed.

• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, process improvement and audit support.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills with a focus on accuracy.
• Ability to independently manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis; proficient in Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ Experience reporting and analyzing financial data.
• 2+ years of experience training, mentoring, or providing guidance to junior staff.
• Experience with IFRS preferred.
• NetSuite experience preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Sitting and/or standing for multiple hours consecutively
• Typing on a computer for multiple hours consecutively
• Staring at a computer screen for multiple hours consecutively
