Job Purpose

Manage and monitor security functions at the assigned station to ensure safety, security, and smooth workflow.

Apply company policies, station operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Security and Station Operations

  • Assist the Airport Manager in monitoring operational and security functions and handling-agent compliance.
  • Monitor ramp, airside, check-in, aircraft restricted, and controlled zones.
  • Verify airport passes, identification, and travel documents for passengers, staff, and airport users.
  • Conduct physical, manual, X-ray, and explosive-trace searches to prevent prohibited articles entering restricted zones.
  • Respond to aircraft-on-ground events, emergencies, delays, disruptions, and service recovery situations.
  • Report security, accident, and dangerous goods incidents to the Airport Manager, authorities, and headquarters as required.
  • Monitor baggage handling, trace lost luggage, investigate unattended luggage, and resolve related complaints.
  • Ensure held-baggage security and complete anti-sabotage checks before loading.
  • Escort valuable cargo or items and safeguard aircraft on the bay as required.
  • Monitor collections from excess baggage, go-show, wheelchair, and seat sales and report deficiencies.
  • Communicate security advisories and monitor handling-agent adherence to policies and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor security-related service levels and recommend enhancements or corrective measures.

Qualifications and Training

  • Higher diploma or equivalent in any discipline is acceptable.
  • Basic airport safety and security procedure training is required, including refresher training.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations training or certification is required.
  • The candidate must have no previous criminal conviction and be physically fit.
  • Good Microsoft Office, written communication, verbal communication, and report-writing skills are required.
  • Good English is required; Arabic may be conditional for certain regions.

Experience and Competencies

  • At least 3 years of relevant security experience in the airlines or aviation industry is required.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience at a station with departure and arrival flights is required.
  • Knowledge of IATA, civil aviation authorities, regulatory bodies, and ground handling procedures is required.
  • Experience in cargo, ramp, dispatch, dangerous goods regulations, or load control is an added value.
  • Experience monitoring security-related service level agreements is required.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance, safety, security, and audit procedures affecting ground operations is required.
  • The role requires composure, self-confidence, emergency handling, investigation, analytical, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
