The Workshop Technician will join a technical team producing the in-house AC12M intrusion detection system at MOD Sealand.

Role overview
SSG is the Ministry of Defence technical authority for electronic and physical security systems.
The Workshop Technician will join a technical team producing the in-house AC12M intrusion detection system at MOD Sealand.
The role supports security projects protecting UK Defence and Government sites.
Working pattern
- The position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
- The role includes participation in an on-call rota for 24-hour emergency cover.
Core responsibilities
- Assemble and fabricate security-related equipment and electronic sub-assemblies.
- Conduct pre-production and post-production tests, verify functionality, diagnose faults and repair equipment at component level.
- Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing of manufactured systems.
- Provide technical information and advice to the technical support team and specialist support at meetings.
- Maintain build quality, conduct testing and audits, support materials ordering, and complete accurate administration.
- Support apprentice training, system maintenance and installations, and technical problem-solving.
