Security Guard 2- Security Services

Qualifications

• - Valid Security Guard licence under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA)
• - Completion of, or active enrollment in, a two-year Community College Law Enforcement program
• - Minimum 6 months to 1 year of security experience
• - Current First Aid and CPR certification
• - Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• - Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public, staff, and patients
• - Sensitivity when working with individuals experiencing mental health and addiction challenges
• - Ability to remain calm during emergencies
• - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• - Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• - Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
• - Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
• - Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• - Availability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Nice to Haves
• - Experience in a healthcare or inpatient setting
• - Knowledge of fire and emergency response procedures
• - WHMIS certification
• - Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques
• - Experience liaising with emergency responders
• - Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language
