About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical readiness for the Canadian payroll year, including configuration of New Year tax rate updates (CPP/QPP, EI)
- Support system side execution of T4, T4A, and RL 1 processes, including data validation and troubleshooting filing errors
- Configure, support and optimize key payroll processes including gross to net calculations, tax reporting, garnishments, and year end activities
- Translate complex payroll requirements into technical specifications and implement enhancements within EC Payroll
- Proactively identify pain points in the current system setup and propose configuration changes or new features
- Evaluate bi annual SuccessFactors updates to identify new functionalities and lead testing and deployment
- Act as primary technical partner to the Payroll team, helping them understand system logic
- Partner with Finance, IT, and HR teams to ensure end to end payroll process efficiency and seamless integration
Requirements
- Typically 3+ years in a Payroll Systems or HRIS role, with demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in independent configuration in SAP SuccessFactors (EC Payroll)
- Strong foundational knowledge of the Canadian payroll calendar, provincial tax regulations, and year end statutory reporting
- Comfortable using Google Workspace for documentation and collaborative data review
- Ability to translate technical 'system speak' into clear, actionable information for Payroll and Finance partners
- A 'can do' attitude toward technical challenges and a desire to build long term solutions

About The Role
- This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1 day on site per week.
- We are looking for an experienced Systems Analyst to join our team as technical support for our SAP SuccessFactors (EC Payroll) environment.
Accountabilities
- Yearly Payroll Cycle & Compliance: Lead the technical readiness for the Canadian payroll year, including configuration of New Year tax rate updates (CPP/QPP, EI). Maintain system performance and compliance by monitoring and applying support packs.
- Year End Filing Mastery: Support the system side execution of T4, T4A, and RL 1 processes. This includes performing data validation runs, troubleshooting filing errors, and ensuring successful final transmission to CRA and Revenu Québec.
- System Maintenance: Configure, support and optimize key payroll processes, including gross to net calculations, tax reporting, garnishments, third party remittances, postings to FI system, year end activities, and accrual setups.
- Solution Design: Translate complex payroll requirements into technical specifications. Design and implement enhancements within EC Payroll to automate manual work.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify 'pain points' in the current system setup and propose configuration changes or new features.
- Release Management: Evaluate bi annual SuccessFactors updates to identify new functionalities. Lead testing and deployment of these features.
- Payroll Team Liaison: Act as the primary technical partner to the Payroll team, helping them understand system logic and supporting them through complex pay scenarios.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, IT, and HR teams to ensure end to end payroll process efficiency and seamless integration with downstream systems.
- Vendor & Internal Alignment: Work alongside internal technical architects or external consultants to ensure all system enhancements align with broader HRIS roadmap and security standards.
Required Skills, Experience & Requirements
- Experience: Typically 3+ years in a Payroll Systems or HRIS role, with demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in independent configuration in SAP SuccessFactors (EC Payroll). Benefits and Pension experience would be an asset.
- Education: SAP SuccessFactors EC Payroll certification an asset.
- Canadian Payroll Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of the Canadian payroll calendar, provincial tax regulations, and year end statutory reporting.
- Google Proficiency: Comfortable using Google Workspace for documentation, and collaborative data review.
