Role overview

Independently operate and maintain at least one process, piece of equipment, or system under autonomous and progressive maintenance standards.

Use technical skills to improve line or system performance while meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and morale targets.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in similar positions.
  • High school certificate; Microsoft Office knowledge is preferred.
  • Previous sanitation experience with knowledge of GMP, safety, and WHMIS is desired.
  • Communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
  • Work effectively with minimal supervision, under pressure, and while multitasking.
  • Lift up to 70 pounds and perform elevated work on ladder platforms.
  • Demonstrate reliability, good attendance, urgency, judgment, adaptability, and attention to safety and GMP.

Work schedule

  • Must be able to work on all shifts.

Sanitation responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize processing, packaging, warehouse, and facility areas.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment while following strict lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Perform overhead cleaning, including vacuuming, brushing, and washing building structures and equipment from ladder platforms.
  • Sweep and mop floors and promote good housekeeping and manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain required personal hygiene, including clean uniforms, hair nets, and beard nets.
  • Train or cross-train others as needed and perform other assigned duties.

Health and safety

  • Apply facility health, safety, and environmental policies and control measures to prevent injury, illness, and property damage.
  • Report imminent dangers, hazards, non-conformities, and incidents, and participate in relevant HSE programs.
  • Wear and distribute personal protective equipment as required.

Food safety and administration

  • Follow plant HACCP and GMP requirements and use tools, chemicals, and lubrication products that meet food safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area and report quality or food safety issues immediately.
  • Complete sanitation and process records and documentation accurately and on time.

Compensation

  • Expected annualized salary is CAD 51,850 to CAD 64,813, depending on experience, skills, education, and budget.
  • The position may include a target bonus of 5%, shift premiums, and overtime.
