Responsibilities
Program & Project Management Support program and project management related to key market-facing and client initiatives, coordinating across both internal and external stakeholders.
Network Development & Relationship Building Track and manage personal and firm networks of entrepreneurs, executives, venture capitalists, investors, bankers, thought leaders, and other connectors to further support and expand existing key client relationships and opportunities.
Create, nurture, and maintain a network of value-driven early to mid-career professionals across legal, finance, and business operations functions for the purpose of delivering unique support, introductions, and insights to our broad range of client relationships.
Innovation Ecosystem Engagement Identify and develop opportunities for Orrick to expand its presence in key tech and innovation ecosystems, including but not limited to universities, accelerators, incubators, early-stage investment funds, and similar organizations.
Serve as an ambassador for Orrick at major tech market programs and events.
Client Development & Revenue Growth Manage internal programs to become a go-to resource connecting clients and partners across the Orrick platform for cross-selling opportunities globally.
Create actionable business development plans for a select group of in-market partners and key referral channels.
Actively support high-level client events, sponsorships, and educational programs to drive sales pipeline outcomes and increase ROI (e.g., CEO dinners, in-house counsel forum, high-profile CLE programs, total access, etc.).
Thought Leadership & Special Projects Create relevant market thought leadership across a range of topics, for distribution both internally and externally.
Support Jobs Referral Network.
Take ownership of special projects as needed.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in a role focusing on Sales, Business Development, Marketing, or related commercial subjects.
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong understanding of the tech ecosystem and market participants – essential.
Desire to be active in the market across a wide range of events and activities.
Proven knowledge of the legal and/or professional services sectors – highly desirable.
Experience
working with senior stakeholders and developing relationships with them. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities. Strong judgment and ability to make well-reasoned independent decisions. Strategic awareness of business and commercial issues. Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision. Project management skills, and an aptitude for developing these skills. Strong executive presence and ability to influence others. High degree of attention to detail. Hardworking and diligent with a keen understanding of client demands. Demonstrates composure when dealing with difficult situations. Invests in, nurtures, and builds a network of productive relationships. Treats delicate or confidential issues with discretion. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is: New York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $150,000 - $190,000 Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $130,000 - $170,000 All Other US Locations $120,000 - $155,000 Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick’s estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
