Safety Specialist II

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, NIOSH, EPA, ADEC, and DOT regulations, along with experience supporting safety programs in industrial or power plant environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively in high-pressure situations.

Candidates should also have experience conducting safety training, incident investigations, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities. A strong commitment to workplace safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement is essential for success in this role.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field; equivalent industrial safety experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Minimum eight years of relevant experience in an industrial work environment

Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADEC, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, and NIOSH regulations and standards

Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and safety training

Ability to support confined space, respiratory protection, fall protection, and other hazard mitigation programs

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems

Valid Alaska driver's license required
