Ironbond is seeking an experienced Safety Officer for major roads, bridges, and interchange rectification works in the UAE.
The role ensures that site safety practices comply with company policy, client requirements, and applicable HSE regulations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Implement the company HSE Policy, HSE Plan, and applicable legislation; monitor HSE performance and targets and recommend improvements.
- Ensure site safety requirements are fully met and liaise with management and site teams on safety measures.
- Monitor site activities for compliance with legal and safety requirements.
- Review Site Safety Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures.
- Conduct routine HSE inspections and submit findings to the Project Manager for corrective action.
- Prepare monthly HSE inspection reports and statistics.
- Conduct monthly site safety meetings, track outstanding actions, and issue minutes.
- Maintain permit-to-work systems, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness records.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, communicate lessons learned, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a construction-related engineering degree, with recognized safety certifications.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or Safety Engineer on highway, bridge, and interchange construction projects in the UAE.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, Safety Diploma, First Aid, and Fire Safety.
- Working knowledge of UAE Federal Laws, relevant Municipality Codes of Construction Safety Practice, and Work Zone Traffic Management requirements.
- Applicants must be available for interviews in the UAE.
Desirable Qualifications
- UAE driving license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- ISO 45001:2018 or ISO 14001:2015 auditor qualification or training.
