SAFETY OFFICER

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions and practices.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and assist in preparing Job Safety Analyses and method statements.
• Monitor permits, work at height, lifting operations, excavation, hot work, and confined-space work.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE training.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare reports.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection checklists, permits, and corrective-action reports.
• Ensure appropriate PPE use and verify that safety equipment is available and maintained.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, fire prevention, and evacuation procedures.
• Coordinate with supervisors and workers to correct unsafe practices.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
• Participate in emergency drills and provide recommendations for improvement.

Additional Duties

Qualifications

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• A relevant HSE or safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or an equivalent is required.
• Valid first-aid certification is an advantage.
• Relevant experience in construction, industrial, oil and gas, facilities, or another applicable industry is required.
