The Role
The Risk Officer manages reliable and current operational, financial, compliance, business continuity, and information security risk registers.
The role acts as a second line of defence, covering operational, regulatory, technology, cyber, conduct, and third-party risks.
Responsibilities
- Manage risk assessments, identify critical deficiencies, and produce feasibility studies, risk reports, management packs, updates, and GRC reports.
- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management framework, Risk Appetite Statement, Key Risk Indicators, policies, procedures, and governance documents.
- Maintain risk registers and provide reporting and insights to senior management, the Board, and relevant committees.
- Assess risks associated with new products, digital assets, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk through due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and control improvement actions.
- Coordinate with Compliance and MLRO teams and support regulatory discussions and regulator-ready documentation.
Profile and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline, with at least five years of relevant experience.
- Experience in risk management for alternative asset managers and regulated entities.
- Knowledge of and relationships with ADGM/FSRA or CBUAE requirements.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks, risk modeling, portfolio analysis, and enterprise control evaluation.
- Strong strategic thinking, macro-trend analysis, executive communication, statistics, data analysis, and data presentation skills.
- Enterprise risk management training and FRM, PRM, CRISC, or equivalent credentials are preferred.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, multitasking, time management, and planning skills.
- Able to work independently, stay current with regulatory changes, adapt to change, and manage personal responsibilities effectively.
- Must demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness, attention to detail, initiative, and perseverance.
