Location

Job Purpose

Lead the performance and profitability of assigned rigs within the Operations department.

Take overall responsibility for HSE, maintenance, operations, personnel management, subcontractors, and asset protection.

Build a culture of safety and collaboration while supporting efficient, cost-effective project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize day-to-day drilling operations and well completion.
  • Manage rig performance, profitability, and operational integrity.
  • Uphold quality assurance standards, comply with HSE regulations, and lead safety initiatives.
  • Lead and develop multiple drilling crews, including subcontractors.
  • Coordinate rig logistics, supply chains, and external support services.
  • Serve as the primary on-site client contact and manage stakeholder needs.

Experience and Competencies

  • Experience in the oil field is required.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and motivating multiple drilling crews.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing wellbore operations.
  • Ability to optimize drilling performance, reduce costs, and meet project timelines.
  • Strong HSE knowledge and demonstrable safety leadership.
  • Experience maintaining positive client and internal stakeholder relationships.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; any graduation is accepted.
  • A technical degree or diploma in drilling technology or a related engineering field is highly preferred.
  • A valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate at the Supervisor level is required.
  • Other industry-recognized drilling and HSE certifications are considered an asset.
