Job Purpose

The role is a highly experienced operations leadership position responsible for the performance and profitability of assigned drilling rigs.

The position covers HSE, maintenance, drilling operations, personnel management, subcontractors, and asset protection and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize day-to-day drilling operations and well completion activities.
  • Manage rig performance, profitability, operational integrity, and asset management.
  • Uphold quality assurance standards, comply with HSE regulations, and lead safety initiatives.
  • Lead multiple drilling crews and subcontractors and oversee personnel training and development.
  • Coordinate rig logistics, supply chains, and external support services.
  • Act as the primary on-site client contact and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in the oil field.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and motivating multiple drilling crews.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing all aspects of wellbore operations.
  • Experience optimizing drilling performance, reducing costs, and meeting project timelines.
  • Strong HSE knowledge and a demonstrable commitment to safety leadership.
  • Experience building positive client and internal stakeholder relationships.

Education and Certifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; any graduation is accepted.
  • A technical degree or diploma in Drilling Technology or a related engineering field is highly preferred.
  • Valid supervisor-level IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate is required.
  • Other industry-recognized drilling and HSE certifications are considered an asset.
