Job Purpose

Lead the performance and profitability of assigned rigs within the Operations department.

Oversee HSE, maintenance, operations, personnel management, subcontractors, and asset protection.

Build strong client and internal stakeholder relationships to support efficient, cost-effective project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize drilling operations and well completion activities.
  • Manage rig performance, profitability, and operational integrity.
  • Uphold quality assurance standards, HSE compliance, and safety initiatives.
  • Lead multiple drilling crews and subcontractors and oversee training and development.
  • Coordinate rig logistics, supply chains, and external support services.
  • Serve as the primary on-site client contact and address stakeholder needs.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in the oil field is required.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating multiple drilling crews is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing wellbore operations is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve drilling performance, reduce costs, and meet project timelines is required.
  • Strong HSE knowledge and a demonstrable commitment to safety leadership are required.
  • Experience maintaining client and internal stakeholder relationships is required.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; any graduation is accepted.
  • A technical degree or diploma in drilling technology or a related engineering field is preferred.
  • A valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate at supervisor level is required.
  • Other industry-recognized drilling and HSE certifications are considered an asset.
