Job Purpose

The role is a highly experienced operations leadership position responsible for the performance and profitability of assigned drilling rigs.

The position covers HSE, maintenance, operations, personnel management, subcontractors, and asset protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise overall rig activities and optimize day-to-day drilling and well completion operations.
  • Manage rig performance, profitability, operational integrity, and asset protection.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards, comply with HSE regulations, and lead safety initiatives.
  • Lead and motivate multiple drilling crews, subcontractors, and personnel development.
  • Coordinate rig logistics, supply chains, and external support services.
  • Act as the primary onsite client contact and manage stakeholder relationships.

Experience and Competencies

  • Experience in the oil field.
  • Proven record leading and managing multiple drilling crews.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing wellbore operations.
  • Ability to optimize performance, reduce costs, and meet project timelines.
  • Strong HSE knowledge and demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Experience maintaining client and internal stakeholder relationships.

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; any graduation is accepted.
  • A technical degree or diploma in drilling technology or related engineering is highly preferred.
  • Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certificate at supervisor level is required.
  • Other industry-recognized drilling and HSE certifications are an asset.
