About the Role
HanmiGlobal Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Resident Mechanical Engineer to join its PMC team for a major residential development project in Riyadh. Responsibilities
- Supervise all mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, LPG (where applicable), and associated mechanical systems
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, and technical submissions
- Ensure all mechanical works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements
- Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural, electrical, and infrastructure disciplines to resolve interface issues
- Monitor construction progress and verify compliance with the approved project programme
- Lead mechanical inspections and witness testing, pre commissioning, commissioning, and system performance verification
- Review and approve inspection records, test reports, commissioning documentation, and as built drawings
- Identify construction issues and recommend practical engineering solutions
- Monitor contractor performance and recommend corrective actions where required
- Participate in technical meetings, progress meetings, and coordination workshops
- Support commercial evaluations related to variations, claims, and technical assessments when requested
- Ensure full compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and project governance requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
- Valid registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years in a Resident Mechanical Engineer or similar supervisory role on large scale construction projects
- Previous experience with Project Management Consultants (PMC) is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC, and other relevant international standards
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services systems
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs, and commissioning documentation
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering management software
- Knowledge of project planning and construction sequencing

Position Summary

Qualifications

Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years in a Resident Mechanical Engineer or similar supervisory role on large scale construction projects
- Previous experience with Project Management Consultants (PMC) is highly preferred
- Experience in residential, mixed use, hospitality, healthcare, or major building developments is desirable
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Code, NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, IPC, and other relevant international standards
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services systems
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, material approvals, RFIs, and commissioning documentation
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering management software

Professional Certifications
- Saudi Council of Engineers Registration (mandatory)
- PMP certification is an advantage
