Role Overview
The Resident Engineer will oversee construction project progress, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
The role requires extensive on-site presence and coordination throughout the construction process.
The role is assigned in Abu Dhabi.
Technical Delivery
- Supervise construction activities, material delivery, contractor schedules, labor resources, and equipment usage on site.
- Review design proposals, work programs, submittals, method statements, shop drawings, payments, variation orders, and claims.
- Manage site supervision staff and enforce contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with designers, architects, contractors, clients, project management, consultants, and authorities.
- Prepare daily diaries and weekly and monthly progress reports covering project progress, schedules, costs, and goals.
- Monitor material and workmanship quality and recommend solutions that improve quality or reduce project cost.
- Conduct technical and feasibility studies, site investigations, and basic design calculations as required.
Client and Team Coordination
- Provide project status, cost, and progress updates and request approvals or change orders when necessary.
- Coordinate schedules, resources, and issue resolution with other Resident Engineers and project teams.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.
- Manage infrastructure liaison and utility diversion activities.
- Perform other duties requested by the Construction Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- Twelve years of experience in drainage, water network, or miscellaneous related projects is required.
- PMP certification and proficiency in Primavera and Microsoft Office are required.
- Previous experience working with construction managers, site teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers is required.
- Experience with SWS infrastructure and water recycling projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with contract conditions and quality assurance is required.
