Role Responsibilities
- Own LLM mid-training and post-training research, including continued pretraining, supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization, and reinforcement learning.
- Prototype agentic architectures across planning, reasoning, memory, skills, tool use, retrieval, and multi-agent collaboration.
- Build research harnesses for systematic experimentation, trajectory analysis, reproducibility, and model comparison.
- Develop evaluation methodologies and benchmarks for agent reasoning, reliability, factuality, and safety.
- Analyze failure patterns and translate root-cause insights into improvements in training, architecture, context, or evaluation.
- Drive projects from research idea through validated prototype and measurable impact, working with engineering on production transition.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, AI research, or a related field.
- Demonstrated applied research experience and independent ownership of research projects.
- Hands-on LLM training and post-training experience, including one or more listed training approaches.
- Strong Python and advanced PyTorch expertise with experience modifying models, pipelines, or research infrastructure.
- Practical depth in agentic AI and context engineering, including planning, reasoning, memory, tools, retrieval, and knowledge grounding.
- Experience designing benchmarks and evaluation methods, including trajectory-based, LLM-as-a-Judge, and human evaluation.
- Ability to formulate novel hypotheses, conduct rigorous experiments, and communicate findings to technical and executive stakeholders.
