As a Research & Development Engineering Co-op you will be tasked with designing and developing innovative, breakthrough next-generation medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients around the world. The WATCHMAN division is a worldwide leader in Left Atrial Appendage Closure (LAAC) with the most studied and implanted device portfolio. The latest WATCHMAN FLX Pro device is designed to promote healing, optimize the therapy, and reach more patients. The unit strives to increase patient awareness and physician acceptance through therapy education and clinical evidence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, fabricate, and prototype new device designs to address clinical feedback
• Develop new and innovative test methods for device performance testing
• Assist new product development teams in device development and testing
• Research and analyze clinical and market data for new market opportunities
• Analyze procedural images and data to improve internal and external educational assets

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or dual master’s degree majoring in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering graduating Fall 2027-Spring 2029. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th, 2027 – August 17th, 2027
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
• Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from Boston Scientific's Maple Grove, Minnesota location

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
