This position is funded for a period of 8 months by a Wellcome Trust Strategic Award on the ‘Mechanisms of Toxicity of Amyloid Aggregates’.

This is a multi-disciplinary, multi-site grant aimed at understanding the role played by amyloid protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s Disease.

This position is aimed at testing the role of beta-amyloid on synaptic function, specifically including mechanisms of plasticity and related morphological changes.

This post is for a short period and so requires an experienced post-doctoral researcher, who is capable of independent work.

in optical techniques such as confocal and multi-photon imaging, organotypic slice culture and morphological analysis will be a distinct advantage.
