Job Description

  • The Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research Associate to carry out the calculations underpinning an ESG/CSR impact index and its associated model.
  • The candidate should be skilled in quantitative and computational modeling, data analysis, and sustainability metrics.

Minimum Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Strong quantitative and computational modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Experience computing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and assessing environmental impacts.
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Flexible approach and initiative in executing the role.
  • Experience in building analytical dashboards.

Preferred Qualification

  • Familiarity with ESG/CSR frameworks and sustainability indicators.
  • Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) or process modeling.
  • Command of analytical tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R).
  • Adaptable and flexible to the continuous changes associated with research demands.
  • Commitment to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Proficiency with dashboard and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
