Research Associate

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a leading graduate school of management in Asia.

Under the IIM Act of 2017, IIMB is an Institute of National Importance.

The ideal candidate will support us in multiple research projects focusing on sustainability and sustainable behaviour, including projects related to agriculture, food waste, electricity consumption, paper consumption, and other related areas.

The position is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on research experience in laboratory and field experiments, particularly in applying behavioural insights to sustainability-related problems.

It would be especially suitable for candidates interested in pursuing a PhD in Behavioural Economics, Management, or related fields.

The Research Associate will be fully integrated into the vibrant research community at IIMB and will have opportunities to interact with faculty members, PhD students, research fellows, academic associates, and other researchers.

Mentorship and support will be provided to the Research Associate in developing their research skills and preparing for and applying to PhD programs.

Reporting to

Cleaning, managing, and analyzing data using Stata

Supporting data analysis for field experiments and randomized controlled trials

Assisting with study pre-registration and IRB applications

Helping prepare registered reports, project documentation, and research manuscripts

Conducting background research and literature reviews

Coordinating with project teams and supporting other research-related tasks as needed

Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Management, or a related field.

Strong training in econometrics, and statistics

Hands-on experience with Stata; knowledge of R or Python is a plus

Prior experience with RCTs, field experiments, lab experiments, or impact evaluation is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and motivation to work in an academic research environment
