Role Overview
The Research Associate role is described in the body as a laboratory technician supporting protein research and development under experienced biologists.
The technician will conduct specified experiments and assist with protein research activities.
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Run agarose gel electrophoresis for DNA analysis and perform transformations.
- Prepare buffers, reagents, laboratory solutions, and sterilized culture media.
- Grow bacterial cultures for experiments.
- Operate and maintain electrophoresis chambers, centrifuges, sterilizers, spectrophotometers, and related equipment.
- Collaborate on purification process optimization and troubleshoot laboratory issues.
Documentation and Operations
- Follow standard operating procedures and laboratory safety regulations.
- Author and update standard operating procedures as needed.
- Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
