- Prepare the operating room and ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile before procedures
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control policies and procedures
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery and provide appropriate nursing care
- Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure details according to established protocols
- Handle, count, and document surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies accurately
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and within the scope of nursing practice
- Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to the surgical team
- Ensure proper documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and nursing interventions
- Provide pre operative and post operative education and support to patients and their families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification
- Experience in operating services or surgical nursing
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control
