Job Purpose
- Responsible for delivering high quality nursing care through evidence based practices.
- Assess patient health problems, develop care plans, and maintain medical records.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide wound care and monitor for infection.
- Assist physicians during procedures and tests.
- Educate patients and families.
- Observe and record patient conditions.
- Respond to medical emergencies.
- Conduct purposeful rounding.
- Adhere to infection control standards.
- Participate in infection control surveillance.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient items and equipment.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient care records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
Supportive Duties
- Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Advocate for patients' needs and preferences.
- Participate in ongoing education and training.
- Respect diverse cultural backgrounds.
Additional Duties
- Oversee work of junior staff and nursing students.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
- Identify and address issues in patient care.
- Other duties as assigned by nursing manager.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and service oriented.
- Manages work pressure and teamwork skills.
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Typing).
- Clerical skills (agenda preparation, minutes, scanning).
Experience
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience.
- RN resident: less than one year experience goes through RN residency program.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.
Licenses / Certifications
- License from country of origin.
- License for practice as per regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS/DHA).
- BLS, ACLS and other LSTC courses as applicable.
