Overview

• The Unit provides intensive care for Royal Family/Protocol patients who:
• Have one or more systems in failure and need observation and/or active management such as circulatory failure requiring massive volume expansion and/or vasoactive medications and invasive monitoring.
• Have respiratory failure and require supportive measures to cardiovascular diseases, internal medicine, gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonary medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, neurosciences, pediatrics, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology and orthopedics.
• Have CNS instability, such as status epilepticus or increased ICP and require active management
• Services include:

• Fluid and electrolyte balance and replacement

• Management of post-operative drains and wound care
• Safety management
• Infection control
• Chemotherapy

• MAAS scoring

• Psychosocial care
• Intra-abdominal monitoring

• Nutritional care TPN / enteral feeds
