Job Summary
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
Work with gastroenterologists, anesthetists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to support patient safety and a smooth procedure experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients before, during, and after endoscopic procedures and identify clinical concerns.
- Verify medical history, allergies, medications, consent, and pre-procedure investigations before procedures.
- Monitor and document vital signs and clinical condition during procedures and recovery.
- Assist physicians with endoscopic procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and prescribed sedation according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor for complications or adverse reactions and respond promptly to clinical deterioration.
- Provide recovery care, assess discharge readiness, and educate patients and relatives on follow-up care.
- Maintain records, prepare equipment and rooms, follow infection-control standards, and participate in emergency, quality, audit, and training activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in nursing from a recognized institution.
