Summary of responsibilities
- As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the role of Registered Nurse (RN) at CCH is to deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical, and evidenced-based nursing care. The overall function of the RN is to assist our patients and community to manage clinical conditions and transitions and maximize their self-care abilities. The RN also acts as a resource for members of the care team as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care. It is expected that you will also be trained to function in the OR, PACU and pre and post endoscopy.
Requirements of the job
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) • Valid Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification • Is committed to living the Mission and Values of Cornwall Community Hospital • Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety • Clinical knowledge and experience endoscopic procedures • Recent experience in an endoscopic clinic or operating room setting • Completion of OR Course with certificate or completing within the first 12 months of employment • Completion of critical care self-learning modules Assets • Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – and testing completed) • Previous recovery room experience
