About the Department

Under the limited supervision of the Classification and Compensation Manager, this position will be responsible for the following: Perform complex personnel transactions and position maintenance accurately in SCEIS. Executive personnel actions to include, but not limited to, new hires, promotions, demotions, separations, rehires, movement between agencies, appointment changes, salary adjustments, suspensions, and reclassifications. Maintain date qualifications to ensure employee performance dates are updated accurately with each transaction. Ensure all personnel data to include, but not limited to, salaries, FLSA status, grievance status, personal identification, direct deposit, and tax withholding are entered correctly. Create temporary positions as needed. Execute position changes to include, but not limited to, position transfer within Agency, reclass, delimit, funding changes and attribute changes. Data update as needed based on department needs or required from State Department of Human Resources. Data is entered prior to the effective date whenever possible. Manage recruitment needs for your assigned area/region/departments. Draft postings in NEOGOV that are formatted correctly, contain an accurate position description, and supplemental questions are updated as needed. Collaborate with hiring managers to learn the needs of their office/department to tailor advertisement. Postings are ready to be released on the 2nd and 17th of the month. Review all applicants for your assigned postings. Applicants that meet minimum qualifications are referred to the hiring managers within 2 days of posting closure. Serve as the subject matter expert for NEOGOV. Identify three (3) job fairs within your region per year. Attend a minimum of one (1) in person job fair and one (1) virtual job fair per year. Create salary offers for select applicants. Collect and review the necessary documents, such as, application, 10-year driving record, references, official transcript if applicable and other additional supplemental documents as needed. Salary offers are created within one (1) business day of request and submitted to the classification and compensation manager to review and approve. Effective communication is used with the hiring manager to document any outstanding documentation or clarification required to complete a salary offer. Salary offers are created using the Agency template and are accompanied with a BEX report for like position data comparison. Approved salary offers are sent to the Director by end of day of receipt. Position Duties

  • A bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of human resources experience. One (1) year experience working with a HRIS. If invited to interview, please obtain your Official 10 year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles to bring with you. Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
