Position Summary
The Captain supports banquet, restaurant, and function service operations.
The role coordinates with chefs and stewards, prepares service areas, supports guest satisfaction, and maintains cleanliness and presentation standards.
Service Responsibilities
- Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards during functions.
- Total charges for group functions and prepare and present checks for payment.
- Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service.
- Ensure proper centerpieces are displayed on every table.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silver before use.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
- Set tables according to the event type and service standards.
- Communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
Guest and Team Standards
- Follow company, safety, and security policies and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
- Speak clearly and professionally, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
