Role Overview

The Rail System Inspector monitors, inspects, and ensures compliance of rail-related systems and interfaces.

The role protects existing metro systems while construction activities meet RTA standards and rail system requirements.

Inspection and Protection

  • Inspect rail system interfaces affected by construction and monitor contractors near operational rail infrastructure.
  • Safeguard signalling, control, communications, traction, and auxiliary power systems.
  • Verify protective measures during demolition and construction.

Construction Interface and Safety

  • Review method statements, risk assessments, and work permits for work near rail systems.
  • Coordinate civil, MEP, and rail system contractors and monitor affected tracks, platforms, and station zones.
  • Prevent disruption to metro operations, enforce safety protocols, and escalate risks affecting service continuity.

Testing and Reporting

  • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and system integration inspections.
  • Maintain inspection reports, site observations, non-conformance reports, and rectification tracking.
  • Provide updates to project management and RTA stakeholders and support continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Railway Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant rail or metro systems inspection or supervision experience.
  • Experience in operational metro or railway environments is essential.
  • Infrastructure or station upgrade or construction project experience is preferred.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of metro signalling, telecommunications, and power systems.
  • Familiarity with rail safety standards, operational protocols, inspection processes, QA/QC, and safety practices.
  • Ability to review construction drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to work in high-risk, live operational environments with strict compliance requirements.

  • The role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and involves operational rail and construction environments.
