As a Traffic Controller , you will be a key member of the Operations Control Centre (OCC), supporting the safe and efficient movement of trains across the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport network.
During the Test & Commissioning phase, you will work closely with the D&C contractor to support and facilitate testing and commissioning activities, helping to establish the operational capability and readiness of the new metro network ahead of passenger services.
As the project progresses into operations, you will be responsible for regulating train services, managing train movements between the mainline and the Stabling and Maintenance Facility, responding to incidents and degraded operating conditions, and supporting the delivery of a safe and reliable service for our customers.
This is a safety-critical, shift-based role requiring strong operational judgement, attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and decisive in complex or rapidly changing situations.

The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium, comprising Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens and Webuild, is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project.
RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain six new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills for 15 years following commencement of operations.

You are an experienced rail or transport operations professional with a strong background in control room environments and a genuine commitment to safety and customer service. You will bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in rail or transport operations, with at least 3 years' experience working in a control room within a transport system or equivalent environment.
Experience operating within a safety-critical environment and working in accordance with established rules, procedures and operational controls.
Strong ability to remain calm, focused and decisive when working under pressure, particularly during degraded or emergency situations.
Strong planning, organisational and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
The ability to operate and interpret complex systems with safety-critical functions.
A strong customer focus and the ability to place the customer at the centre of operational decision making.
A Certificate IV or Diploma in Incident Management or Rail Operations, or relevant professional experience and/or an equivalent qualification.
A collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary OCC team.
