Role Description

Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for piping fabrication and installation work.
• Review IFC drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and material specifications to prepare BOQs.
• Conduct material take‑offs (MTO) for pipes, fittings, valves, supports, and accessories.
• Analyze fabrication man-hours, welding inch‑diameters, and erection tonnage.
• Support tendering activities and prepare cost breakdown structures.

Quantity Measurement & Verification

• Verify quantities based on approved drawings, site measurements, and fabrication shop outputs.
• Track welding progress, spool fabrication, hydrotest packages, and erection quantities.
• Maintain updated quantity logs and progress measurement sheets.
• Coordinate with engineering and site teams for quantity validation.

Contract & Commercial Management

• Review contract terms, scope of work, and commercial conditions.
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations, progress invoices, and supporting documents.
• Identify variations, prepare variation claims, and maintain change order logs.
• Support negotiation of subcontractor agreements and evaluate subcontractor invoices.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project procedures.

Cost Control & Reporting

• Monitor project costs, productivity, and budget performance.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Track fabrication shop productivity (welders, fitters, fabricators).
• Highlight cost deviations and recommend corrective actions.

Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain all commercial documentation including MTOs, BOQs, invoices, and claims.
• Coordinate with procurement for material pricing and vendor quotations.
• Liaise with planning for progress updates and earned value calculations.
• Support project close-out, final accounts, and reconciliation of quantities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in quantity measurement and cost analysis.
• Excellent understanding of contractual terms and commercial procedures.

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in piping fabrication or oil & gas EPC projects.
• Experience with fabrication shops, welding inch‑dia calculations, and hydrotest packages.
• Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API) is an advantage.
