Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi.

The

General Manager

will lead and oversee the full operations of a high‑performance

pipe fabrication manufacturing unit

, ensuring excellence in production, quality, safety, and profitability.

This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with deep industry expertise, strong operational acumen, and the ability to drive results in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment.

The General Manager will guide cross‑functional teams, optimize processes, implement best‑in‑class manufacturing practices, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, hands‑on leadership style, and a proven track record of delivering operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement.

1. Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies to enhance production capacity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Align operational goals with corporate objectives and ensure consistent execution across departments.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between production, procurement, logistics, and quality teams.

2. Production & Process Management

  • Oversee the entire pipe fabrication process, including cutting, welding, bending, coating, and assembly.
  • Ensure production schedules are met with optimal resource utilization and minimal downtime.
  • Introduce and monitor KPIs such as throughput, cycle time, yield, and equipment utilization.
  • Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

3. Quality Assurance & Control

  • Establish and enforce quality standards in line with industry codes (e.g., ASME, API, ISO).
  • Supervise inspection and testing processes, including NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), hydro testing, and dimensional checks.
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects and implement preventive measures.
  • Maintain documentation for traceability and compliance audits.

4. Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage operational budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance, including margins, overheads, and working capital.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to optimize procurement costs.

5. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety drills, audits, and training programs.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization.

6. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Oversee procurement of raw materials (pipes, fittings, welding consumables, etc.) and ensure timely availability.
  • Manage inventory levels to balance production needs and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate with logistics for inbound and outbound shipments.

7. Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Interface with clients to understand project requirements and ensure satisfaction.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, project planning, and delivery commitments.
  • Represent the unit in client meetings, industry forums, and regulatory inspections.

8. Technology & Innovation

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve fabrication processes and reduce costs.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives such as ERP integration, automation, and data analytics.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and innovations in pipe fabrication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and other fabrication standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, cost control, and operational optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in pipe fabrication, heavy manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Proven track record in leading large‑scale manufacturing operations.
