Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming raw materials including stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, brass, and other metal components
- Conduct in process inspections during cutting, bending, rolling, machining, drilling, assembly, and fabrication activities
- Inspect welding preparations, fit up, joint configurations, and welding activities; verify weld quality
- Inspect surface preparation and finishing activities; verify finish quality, coating thickness, color consistency
- Conduct final inspections of fabricated metal products before shipment
- Inspect installed metal works at project sites when required; prepare snag lists
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, Welding Technology, Metallurgy, or related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in QA/QC inspection within metal fabrication, architectural metal works, steel fabrication, or manufacturing industries
- Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, brass, and decorative metal works
- Welding Inspection Certification (CSWIP, AWS CWI, or equivalent) preferred

Job Summary
- The QA/QC Metal Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and installation activities comply with project specifications, approved shop drawings, client requirements, and company quality standards.
- The role involves conducting inspections throughout the production process, identifying non conformities, and ensuring that all fabricated metal products meet the required quality standards before delivery and installation.
Key Responsibilities Material Inspection
- Inspect incoming raw materials including stainless steel, mild steel, aluminum, brass, and other metal components.
- Verify material grades, dimensions, thicknesses, finishes, and supporting mill certificates against approved specifications.
- Ensure proper identification, traceability, storage, and handling of materials.
- Report and document any non conforming materials.
Key Responsibilities Fabrication Inspection
- Conduct in process inspections during cutting, bending, rolling, machining, drilling, assembly, and fabrication activities.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, alignment, fit up, and workmanship against approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor fabrication processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and approved procedures.
- Ensure fabrication activities are performed according to project requirements and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities Welding Inspection
- Inspect welding preparations, fit up, joint configurations, and welding activities.
- Verify weld quality, appearance, penetration, dimensions, and compliance with approved welding procedures.
- Identify welding defects such as porosity, undercut, cracks, incomplete fusion, distortion, and misalignment.
- Coordinate corrective actions and re inspections where required.
- Ensure welding consumables are properly controlled and used according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities Surface Finishing Inspection
- Inspect surface preparation activities prior to painting, powder coating, anodizing, polishing, brushing, PVD coating, or other finishing applications.
- Verify finish quality, coating thickness, color consistency, adhesion, and overall appearance.
- Ensure finished products are free from scratches, dents, corrosion, contamination, and visual defects.
- Approve completed finishes before packaging and dispatch.
Key Responsibilities Final Inspection & Release
- Conduct final inspections of fabricated metal products before shipment.
- Verify dimensional accuracy, assembly quality, functionality, finishing, and compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure products are properly labeled, protected, and packaged.
- Prepare final inspection reports and release documentation.
Key Responsibilities Installation Inspection
- Inspect installed metal works at project sites when required.
- Verify installation quality, alignment, levels, fixing methods, and overall compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Prepare snag lists and monitor corrective actions until closure.
- Participate in consultant and client inspections and handover processes.
Key Responsibilities Documentation & Quality Records
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records.
- Maintain inspection and testing records for traceability and project documentation.
- Monitor closure of quality issues and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing project quality dossiers and handover documentation.
Key Responsibilities Quality Management System
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote quality awareness across production and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow company HSE policies and procedures during all inspection activities.
- Report unsafe conditions and ensure safe work practices are maintained.
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety initiatives when required.
