Job Purpose
Oversee day-to-day food safety and quality activities at the facility so products meet company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the site quality representative and provide leadership to Quality Control personnel.
Support the Quality Assurance Manager with food safety systems, quality investigations, audits, and continuous improvement.
Leadership and Team Support
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, training, and support to Quality Control personnel.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new Quality team members.
- Communicate with Production and other departments on quality and food safety matters.
- Escalate significant quality or food safety concerns to the QA Manager.
Quality Control and Monitoring
- Monitor production processes for compliance with product specifications and food safety requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, work-in-process products, and finished goods.
- Verify GMP inspections, product weights, labels, allergen controls, and metal detector checks.
- Respond to production-floor quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
