Role Overview

Purchasing Responsibilities

• Monitor market changes, product availability, import procedures, purchasing requirements, and receiving procedures.
• Purchase food and non-food items at the best available quality and price for hotel operations.
• Compare supplier quality and pricing and negotiate with suppliers in coordination with management when required.
• Maintain supplier, price, quantity, and purchasing records and place approved purchase orders.
• Obtain at least three quotations per purchase request and coordinate quality and quantity decisions with department heads.
• Provide samples to involved departments and work with the storekeeper on storage, delivery disposition, and FIFO compliance.
• Conduct market surveys, report market developments, ensure timely delivery, and submit alternatives or new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a five-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong food and beverage procurement experience covering sourcing, supplier selection, and cost management.
• Experience with supplier negotiation, contract management, vendor relationships, inventory, purchasing controls, budgeting, and cost optimization.
• Proficiency in ERP or procurement systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
• English fluency is essential; Arabic and knowledge of GCC procurement practices are advantageous.
