Purchasing and Quality Compliance
- Ensure purchasing practices comply with specified quality standards and Howmet requirements.
- Ensure procedures and processes conform to AS9100, IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001, ASAT, FBP, EHS, and IMEX requirements.
- Audit and update purchasing procedures and processes as needed.
Supplier and Inventory Management
- Monitor domestic and international suppliers to maintain accurate stock quantities, pricing, delivery timeframes, and quality standards.
- Maintain minimum inventory levels through just-in-time delivery arrangements and meet days-on-hand and on-time-delivery targets.
- Provide inventory forecasts to Finance, manage excess stock, and communicate lead-time delays and alternatives.
- Source, engage, and approve raw material, finished goods, and component suppliers.
Testing and Corrective Action
- Ensure intermediate and finished products are tested according to internal standards and specifications.
- Ensure wire samples are tested according to site procedures.
- Notify Quality and suppliers of non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Supplier Negotiation
- Negotiate improvements to supplier cost, quality, payment, and delivery terms.
- Review supplier arrangements periodically to improve business terms and support continuous improvement objectives.
- Communicate significant price changes to Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing.
