Job Summary
The Purchasing Co-op Student will support the procurement and supply chain team in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and maintaining inventory records. This role provides hands-on experience in purchasing operations, supplier management, and business process improvement within a fast-paced environment. This opportunity is a short term contract running from September 2026 for 4-8 months.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
- Support sourcing activities by comparing vendor pricing, lead times, and quality performance.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, supplier information, and contracts.
- Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, finance, engineering) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Help track supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Support general administrative tasks related to procurement documentation and reporting.
- Participate in process improvement or sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
