- Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency
- Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities
- Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers
- Review purchasing agreements with vendors, monitor performance and renegotiate contracts
- Utilize quarterly and annual data to determine purchasing needs and perform inventory management
- Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules and maintain purchase inventories
- Coordinate with warehouse team to compare deliveries with purchase orders to identify discrepancies
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors
- Ensure all purchased materials, equipment, and services comply with relevant regulatory standards and certifications specific to explosive atmospheres, such as ATEX
- Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, inspection reports, quality agreements, and other relevant documentation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Master's degree in business administration or relevant, or Bachelor's in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical)
- Solid analytical skills with ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- In depth knowledge of purchasing functions, inventory and supply management system
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
