Public Library Security Guard

Permanent position: Monday: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM Tuesday to Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM

Responsibilities for Public Library Security Guard
- Provide a visible security presence and patrol all floors during operational hours.
- Control access at library entrances, operate metal detection gates, and welcome visitors.
- Monitor security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) and respond to incidents.
- Collaborate with library staff, Community Safety Hosts, and Crisis Workers to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist the public with information and directions in a professional manner.
- Follow opening/closing procedures, including securing doors, elevators, and rooms.
