Job Description

The Propulsion Delivery Quality Manager III is Airbus's primary quality focal point and customer representative for checking quality, technical conformity, and acceptance of the A320 Propulsion System.

The role oversees quality from pre-Final Assembly Line supplier inspections through Final Assembly Line, Flight Line, and aircraft delivery.

The position is embedded in the aircraft delivery multifunctional team and owns quality concerns, customer feedback, and delivery issue resolution.

Team and Working Environment

The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama produces A320 Family aircraft and A220 aircraft at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley.

Manufacturing teams support aircraft assembly, technical information, quality control, maintenance, and health and safety across flowlines and flightlines.

Management and Oversight

  • Manage propulsion-system quality and technical conformity before delivery to the Final Assembly Line in compliance with Airbus quality, health and safety, and POA requirements.
  • Escalate Red Quality Gate risks, coordinate recovery plans, and manage propulsion-system non-conformances across suppliers, podding plants, and the Final Assembly Line.
  • Manage concessions, Quality Survey Reports, supplier On-Site Support performance, aircraft DQM allocations, workload planning, and daily operations.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

  • Represent Airbus to airline customers for propulsion-system presentations and inspections before Final Assembly Line delivery.
  • Communicate complex issues with senior internal and external stakeholders, address customer feedback, and act as the escalation point for high-exposure issues.
  • Lead cross-functional crisis management during the delivery phase and support customer satisfaction improvements.

Product Quality Assurance

  • Identify quality trends and ensure containment, corrective actions, and prevention through Practical Problem Solving, 9S, and End-to-End Dynamic Containment and Prevention.
  • Release the Propulsion System Inspection Document after checking technical documentation and product inspection for POA and safety compliance.
  • Manage as-built status and conformity documentation, inspect reworked propulsion parts or assemblies, support audits, and provide technical quality leadership.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead lessons-learned sessions, value-stream and customer-transformation projects, business-efficiency initiatives, and adoption of digital quality tools such as Skywise.
  • Maintain quality feedback loops and lead initiatives that improve organizational capability, quality KPIs, sustainable growth, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in aircraft propulsion systems and/or procurement-related fields.
  • A technical or engineering background is required.
  • Knowledge of supply-chain quality, industrial quality processes, audits, inspections, and control procedures is required.
  • Advanced English proficiency, strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, autonomy, adaptability, and project-management capability are required.
  • French is a plus, SAP experience is preferred, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Workplace and Travel

  • The role is 100% onsite at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama.
  • Travel of approximately 10% may be domestic or international, sometimes on short notice.

Physical Requirements

The role includes computer and production-floor work, conversations and meetings, standing, sitting, squatting or kneeling, and operation of office or production equipment.

The employee must be able to carry, lift, push, or pull documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment, and some equipment weighing up to 30 pounds or 14 kilograms.
