Role Overview

Proposal and Technical Sales Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals, technical offers, tender submissions, and cost estimates for fixed water and foam systems, deluge, sprinklers, foam monitors, hydrants, pumps, and pipework.
• Review tender documents, specifications, scopes, and contract terms to identify risks, assumptions, and clarifications.
• Develop scope breakdowns, equipment lists, bills of materials, and preliminary layouts with design, engineering, and procurement teams.
• Prepare hydraulic, fire water demand, foam sizing, and pump selection calculations and design basis documents.
• Coordinate supplier and subcontractor technical data, quotations, and lead-time information and evaluate alternatives.
• Prepare value-engineering options and maintain compliant, version-controlled submission packs.
• Support commercial negotiations and post-tender queries with technical input.

Required Skills

• Experience preparing proposals and technical bids for fire fighting systems in oil and gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors is required.
• Knowledge of fire protection principles, relevant codes, standards, and statutory requirements is required.
• Competence in hydraulic calculations, pump and nozzle selection, and foam system design is required.
• Commercial awareness, cost estimating, margin analysis, and risk assessment skills are required.
• Strong English communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and deadline management are required.
• MS Office proficiency is required, while familiarity with CAD tools or hydraulic calculation software is desirable.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
• Typically three or more years of relevant proposal engineering, estimating, or design experience is required.
• Vendor liaison and technical vendor inquiry and evaluation experience are required.
• Familiarity with oil and gas contract types, bid processes, and project delivery models is advantageous.
