Role Overview
Represent Supply Chain in the Project and Proposal Management Team as the sub-project manager for compressor package procurement.
Lead procurement strategy and integrate procurement into project-management processes from the sales phase through project execution.
Optimize the availability, quality, timing, and cost of goods and services while following procurement processes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and participate in sales and project meetings to define supplier strategy for major equipment and components.
- Establish procurement plans, target costing, sourcing processes, resource controls, and compliance with Siemens Energy procurement standards.
- Analyze supply scope, contractual obligations, customer needs, risks, opportunities, changes, claims, and market forces.
- Define procurement strategies and prepare recommendations for supplier negotiations.
- Lead complex contractual, price, cash-flow, and commercial-term negotiations with suppliers.
- Ensure procurement risks, scope changes, claims, and customer obligations are addressed in valid contracts.
- Apply preferred-supplier lists and coordinate supplier qualification, evaluation, development, and transition activities.
- Share procurement information, supplier data, documentation, metrics, best practices, and lessons learned with project stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an applicable master’s, MBA, or equivalent education and experience combination.
- At least 5 years of combined experience in SCM, project procurement, proposal, or project management within oil and gas or power generation.
- Advanced sourcing-process knowledge, negotiation skills, Microsoft Office capability, data analytics, and cost-modeling experience.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization, self-manage, solve problems, and present to management-level audiences.
- Availability to travel approximately 15% of the time.
- Technical proficiency in compression and/or gas turbine major equipment is preferred.
