PPC operates across drilling and completion fluids, solids control, filtration equipment, and waste management services in the Middle East and Caspian region.
Role Objective
The Operations Lead oversees contracted PPC UAE services across drilling fluids, waste management, solid control, and filtration.
The role coordinates resources, optimizes workflows, and drives operational excellence, compliance, profitability, and continuous improvement.
The position serves as a key liaison between field teams and senior management and aligns service delivery with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across PPC service lines to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Develop operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor performance metrics and generate management reports.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to improve processes and productivity.
- Ensure HSE, company policy, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage budgets, inventory, and logistics for field operations.
- Resolve operational issues and maintain client satisfaction.
- Supervise and mentor field staff.
- Conduct audits, site visits, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic alignment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced knowledge of drilling waste technologies and environmental compliance is required.
- The role requires knowledge of drilling fluids, waste management, and filtration systems.
- Required capabilities include operational planning, resource allocation, performance monitoring, budgeting, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
- The role requires service quality audits, corrective action planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional team management.
- High ethical standards and commitment to safety and compliance are expected.
Experience and Qualifications
- The employer seeks 5–10 years of experience as a drilling fluid specialist or field supervisor.
- Relevant experience includes drilling or completion fluids, drilling waste management, solid control, and project engineering or SCE operations coordination.
- A bachelor’s degree in petroleum or chemical engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification, is preferred.
- Sufficient field experience with relevant training and courses may be accepted as an alternative qualification.
- Mud School from Baroid, SLB, BHI, or a PPC-equivalent exam or test is a prerequisite.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures
- Maintain financial profitability for the Drilling Fluids and Equipment division.
- Establish and review equipment maintenance records monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Provide monthly utilization reports for management.
- Monitor inventory and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Establish and review personnel training matrices quarterly.
- Maintain 100% HSE compliance across workshops and locations.
- Evaluate one new technology on a bi-annual basis.
- Prepare technical bids and necessary cost calculations or estimates.
