Project Engineer II

Candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems.

Each system is custom designed per client based on the optimal solution.

This requires a team effort of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management.

The team will develop and implement a design concept that satisfies the customer’s requirements for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and expense.

• Designs/Enhances conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may work on phases of a larger project or an entire smaller project
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems
• Creates approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
• Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
• Works with other disciplines on the project team to make sure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
• Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
• Participates in continuous improvement projects
• Resolves engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and other team members

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of material handling related experience
