Role Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role supports capital and maintenance projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Project Engineer collaborates with operations, maintenance, safety, and external contractors to improve plant performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Description
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and execute capital and improvement projects from initial concept through design, procurement, construction, and startup.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and process engineering teams to identify plant improvement opportunities.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, equipment specifications, and contractor deliverables.
• Support procurement activities including equipment selection, vendor evaluation, and bid reviews.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules, providing regular status updates to management.
• Ensure projects comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Participate in hazard reviews, risk assessments, and safety reviews (e.g., PHA, HAZOP).
• Oversee contractors and construction activities during project execution.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process equipment issues related to project installations.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including reports, drawings, and operating procedures.
• Support plant commissioning, startup, and performance verification of new systems.
