Production VX Operator

Position Overview

Compensation

• Compensation is AED 12,000 per month as an all-inclusive package.

Show Operation

• Operate media servers, video playback systems, projection equipment, and visual systems during rehearsals and live performances.
• Execute video and visual cues according to approved cue sheets and production documentation.
• Coordinate with lighting, audio, automation, stage management, and show management to maintain cue synchronization.
• Participate in technical rehearsals, cue-to-cues, programming sessions, and production updates.

Media Server and Video Systems

• Operate and maintain WATCHOUT media servers and associated playback systems.
• Load, organize, verify, and prepare media content before performances.
• Maintain show files, backups, version control, playback sequences, cue lists, timelines, and synchronization.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot playback issues during live performances.

Projection and Displays

• Operate projection systems, displays, monitors, and associated visual equipment.
• Perform projector alignment, calibration, focus, edge blending, and image correction where required.
• Monitor projector performance and image quality throughout rehearsals and performances.

Maintenance and Support

• Conduct daily pre-show inspections and operational checks.
• Troubleshoot video, projection, networking, synchronization, and playback issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, maintenance logs, equipment inventories, and backup procedures.
• Assist with installation, testing, upgrades, strike, corporate events, media shoots, and special events.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience in theatre, resident productions, concerts, live entertainment, or large-scale events.
• Proven WATCHOUT or comparable media-server experience is required.
• Experience with projection, video playback, media synchronization, video routing, signal distribution, and display technologies is required.
• Basic networking knowledge for media and AV systems is required.
• Ability to read technical drawings, signal-flow diagrams, and production documentation is required.
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, communication, and live-show problem-solving skills are required.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, public holidays, rehearsals, and special events is required.

Preferred Experience

• Resident theatrical production experience with WATCHOUT is preferred.
• Projection mapping, multi-projector systems, grandMA3, AV-over-IP, Dante, NDI, media encoding, or luxury entertainment experience is preferred.
